Let me start by saying welcome to ExtremeMobWars and thank you for becoming a part of our large online community. I am sure that you will come to love this game as much as we all do. We have set up these tutorials to help get you started with all of the basics that will have you playing and having fun in no time at all. Please remember that if you can't find the answer to any of your questions or problems in here, one of our friendly staff will be more than happy to help you out.

PICKING YOUR MOBSTER NAME AND LOGGING INTO A ROUND

First off, let’s look at how to navigate your way around the EMW pages. To begin playing EMW you will need to log into the current round. Once you have logged into your account with your username and password you will need to hit the PLAY link at the top left of your screen. This link will bring you to the round log in screen. You will see a box, or boxes, depending on how many rounds are running at the time, with a space for you to enter the game name that you would like to use for the round, and the option in a drag down menu to pick a city to start in.

Once you have successfully entered the round, you will find yourself in NoobCity. This is a city that all new players to the game start out in. Whilst you remain in NoobCity you can not be attacked, this gives you a chance to get a feel for the game and learn your way around before you venture out into the real streets of EMW.

GENERAL RUN DOWN OF THE GAME, AND WHERE YOU CAN FIND HELP

ExtremeMobWars is a turns based Mafia game. Everyone starts out with a certain amount of turns when they first log in, you use these turns for everything in the game, hiring defensive and operative units, attacking, collecting, banking cash and sending cash. As long as your turns aren't maxed out (2500 is the maximum number of turns you can hold as a free player) you will receive more turns every ten minutes. Everyone also starts with a certain amount of reserve turns. You will find your reserve turns on the main menu page of the game. These turns sit in reserve until you are ready to use them. To use these reserve turns you need to go to the main menu page and add in the number of turns you wish to add in the box provided. Once you have clicked "apply" they will be moved to your on hand turns. Whilst we are on the main menu page, if you look at the left-hand side of the screen, you will see a list of all of the EMW staff. If they have a gun icon flashing next to their name it means they are currently online. So feel free to send them a message and say hi, and if you have any questions or are having difficulties with anything please don't hesitate to message them. All are here to help out all of the players of the game.

FINDING A FAMILY, SENDING AND READING MESSAGES

So you are now in the game..."what do I do next?" I hear a lot of you asking. If this is the first time you have played an online Mafia game it can be a little daunting seeing all of the buttons and options available to you. This is why we suggest that the first thing you do when getting into the game is finding yourself a family. Once you are in a family you have a bit of protection, as well as online players that can help you pick up the game a lot quicker.

If all of our players are on the ball you should receive messages asking if you would like to join a family. If you have messages in your inbox you will see the number of messages you have on your MAIL tool bar, next to your INBOX, which you will near the top of every screen. The number of messages you have will be in red.

To open your mailbox and read your messages you just need to click on inbox and you will then be taken to your mailbox. To reply to any of your messages, you just need to click on the "reply" option, at the top right of every message. A box will come up that has a space for you to write your message and also a line where you can CC other players. The small line is where you put in the names of the other players that you would also like the message forwarded to, please note this is NOT a place to put message subject. Make sure if you are sending to multiple players that you separate their names with a comma.

If you don't receive any messages or would just like to have a look at a few of the families that are around, there a few ways you can do this. The first way is to go to the family rankings link at the bottom of every page. This will give you a list of all the families in the game and how many members are in each family. If you click on one of the family names, you will get a detailed list of all the players in that family. If you see a player with a little flashing icon next to their name that means that they are currently online. Click on their name in the family list, and it will bring up their profile for you to look at. Above every profile is a number of options, including send a message (we will cover the other options a little later). If you click on the send a message you can then contact that person and ask them for an invite. It is worth noting that players that are ranked Don, Boss, Consig and Bruglione are the only ones that have the ability to send invites. You will see a player's rank on their profile.

Another way to possibly find a suitable family to join is by using the "who's online" link near the bottom of the page, in the FIND toolbar. If you press "who's online" it will show you all the people that are currently online in the same city as you. Above the list you will see two options, view by city or view all online. If you click view all online it will show you everyone online in every city in the game. You can click on any name and it will bring up their player profile, where you have the option to send them a message.

ACCEPTING INVITES

So hopefully by now, you have found a family you would like to be part of, and they have sent you an invite. On the same tool bar that your INBOX is on, you will see a link for invites (very far right of the tool bar). Like your inbox, if you have any invites they will show up as a number in red. To accept an invite you need to click on the INVITES link. This will bring up all the invites that you have received. When you bring up all the invites you will see an option to view that family. If you click on that link it will take you to the family page for that particular family where you can see all of the members and their networths etc. Near the top of that page you will see a link that says "Invitation found: click here to join". If you wish to join that family, click that link and you will then be a member of that family!

FAMILY, BUSINESS AND UNION BOARDS

In EMW we have many ways for you to communicate with members of your family and Union. On your MAIL tool bar you will find links to your family board, business board and Union board. Your family board is used for communicating with members that are in your immediate family. This board is generally used to get to know your other family members and for normal chit chat. Only members of your family and your family Don can see this board. The same applies to the business board, this board is however, used for game related business stuff. Many families use this board for the players to post all their transfers to the banker. The Union board is for all families with the same Don to communicate. This is a great way for you to meet players from other families within your Union. Like your INBOX, you will be able to tell if there are any messages that you haven't read on these boards on your MAIL toolbar, the number of unread messages will show up in red, as it does with your inbox and invites.

TRAVELLING

Most families in the game pick a city, and make that their home base. The chances are that once you have joined a family they will want you to move to whatever city they are located in. To travel to a different city you will need to click on the TRAVEL link at the top of the page. Here you will find a list of all the cities in the game. You will need to click on the city you wish to move to and then on the next screen click yes in order to travel. There is a cost to travel though, it costs $150 per person, and this includes both your ops and DUs. Alternatively, you can have cars or planes to travel for free. Each car fits 5 people in it, and each plane holds 250 people. So, you need to make sure you have enough cash or planes and cars before you can move cities.

PURCHASING CARS, PLANES, GUNS AND ALCOHOL

In order to play EMW successfully you need to keep your defensive units and operatives happy. You do this by making sure they have an adequate supply of alcohol, coke, weed, and enough guns for your defensive units. You need to go to the BLACKMARKET link at the top of the page. On this page you are able to buy and sell alcohol, weed, coke, guns (glocks, shotguns, uzis and ak-47s), cars and planes. Under each item you will see the cost of each item and a box for you to enter the amount you wish to purchase. There is also a button that says MAX B and another which says MAX S. The MAX B (max buy) button will automatically put in the total number of that item that you can afford with the amount of cash you have on hand and MAX S (max sell) button will automatically put in the total number of that item you own. Underneath all of the weapons you will also see a button that says Cover DUs. This button when clicked will automatically put in the number of guns that you need to ensure that your DUs are completely armed. A good thing to remember is that when attacking your DUs need both alcohol and weed to remain happy, and when collecting your operatives need both alcohol and coke to remain happy. When first starting out we recommend that you buy around 2 million of each drug to ensure that your guys are content. But remember, with every attack or collect, they use up some of those drugs so always keep an eye on how many you have.

HIRING DEFENSIVE UNITS AND OPERATIVES

To make money and be able to attack others in the game you need to have defensive Units and operatives. You get these by going to the HIRE link at the top of the screen. Whores, card dealers, hustlers, punks and bootleggers are all operatives, whilst thugs, bodyguards and hitmen are all defensive units. You are probably best off checking with your Boss on what is best for you to hire before building up your men. Bosses may need you to build in a certain way depending on what their family is concentrating on for the round. To hire though, you need to check the little circle underneath what you want to hire and then put in the number of turns that you wish to hire with, and then press scout. On the right hand side of the hire screen you will see how many defensive units you have, compared to how many weapons. If you are short of guns you will need to go to the BLACKMARKET page that we talked about and buy your guns from there. It is worth remembering that hitmen are the strongest of the defensive units, and that ak-47s are the strongest of the guns. Most people will tell you that there isn't much point in arming your DUs with anything less than an ak-47. The *M button next to the space for you to put in the number of turns you wish to hire with, is a MAX turns button, and if pressed will automatically put in the maximum number of turns that you can hire with (this may be all of your on hand turns).

COLLECTING AND PRODUCING

Operatives are used for making money. If you have card dealers, whores, hustlers or punks you will need to use the COLLECT link at the top of the page. Just like hiring, you use turns to collect money. Under each operative you will see the total of how many of them you have, and also a box (this only shows up if you have any of those ops) where you can put in the number of turns you wish to collect with. The maximum number of turns you can collect with is 999. You can also produce cocaine and weed with thugs, alcohol with bootleggers and counterfeit money (this is no different than normal cash in the game) with punks. These options are available to you on the PRODUCE page, and just like the COLLECT page you need to put in the number of turns you wish to produce with. It is important to remember that when collecting or producing you need to have your ops (or thugs if producing with them) 100% happy or some of them will leave you every time you collect. For your operatives to be happy they need to have a good supply of both alcohol and coke. If you have got yourself into your family, we suggest that you check with your Boss before collecting. Your Boss may have gun cash that they can send you, and they may want you to use your turns in a different way.

ATTACKING

This is the fun bit! You have got your DUs armed and have the drugs to keep them happy and you are ready to go hunting! There are a few things you will need to know when looking for a suitable target to hit. First we will talk about range, every player has a net worth (the value of all of their assets and cash totaled). You can only hit players that are within a certain range of your net. You can hit anyone that has up to four time’s higher net worth than you, and half as low as you. For example, if your net is at 100 million, you can hit players that have nets between 50 million (1/2 your net) and 400 million (4 times your net). When finding a suitable target always consider the number of DUs they have compared to you, and it is also worth remembering that HITMEN are stronger than thugs and bodyguards. If a player has operatives as well as DUs it can normally be assumed that they also have hitmen.

There are two easy ways to bring up the attack page, the first one is to click on the ATTACK link on the top left of screen. This will bring up all the players in the same city as you that are in your range. You will see on this page how many DUs and ops they have as well as their net worth. If you click on the skull icon to the right of their net worth it will bring up the attack screen. You can also get to the attack screen through a player's profile by clicking on the attack link above their profile box.

Once you bring up the attack screen there are a number of different attack options available to you when you hit another player:

1. Drivebys - you need to have cars to use this attack option. When you do a driveby on someone you only hit them with as many DUs as you can fit into the total number of cars you have. Upon attacking someone with drivebys, you will not steal any cash off of them at all. The most common use for the driveby is for maxing members of your own family. Maxing will be covered shortly

2. Headquarter attack - this is the most common type of attack. As long as you win the attack you will take some cash off of the player with each hit, as well as killing their DUs.

3. Extorting business - when using this attack, you will hit both the player’s defensive units and operatives. If you win the attack, you will also kill a number of his operatives as well as DUs. You do not gain cash off of the player with this type of attack.

4. Armory attack - You use this attack to loot the player's guns. This attack option is not available until you have killed off all of the player's DUs.

5. Sabotage drug labs - you use this attack to loot drugs from the player you are hitting. Again, this option is not available until all of the player's DUs are killed.

6. Steal planes - Once a player has lost all of their DUs you can steal their planes. You can only steal planes if you have thugs, and you also need to own at least one plane yourself. With every attack you will only steal as many planes as you have thugs or planes. For example if you have 10,000 thugs, the most planes you will be able to steal with each is hit is 10,000, but if you only have 100 planes, you will only take 100 planes off of them.

7. Steal cars - This works the same as planes. You need thugs and you need at least one car to be able to steal cars off of the player.

It is worth remembering that many families in the games have alliances and NAPs (no attack pacts), so if you have joined a family, it is worth checking with your Boss before you run off hitting people!

HOW TO TELL IF YOU HAVE BEEN HIT AND THE REVENGE OPTION

If you have been hit, it will show up on your mailbox toolbar next to attacks. If you click on this it will show you the logs of the attacks on you. Once you have been attacked by someone you have the option to revenge them for the 24 hours following their last attack on you. For those 24 hours you will be able to attack them regardless of their net worth.

You can easily see which players you have revenge on by clicking on the inbox part of your mailbox toolbar. When you bring this up you will see a link to your revenges. When you click on this it will bring up a list of all the players that have hit you in the previous 24 hours and how long until that revenge expires. It is worth noting, that attacks using revenges are the same as normal attacks. To win the attack you will need to have more DUs than the person you are attacking.

HIRING FOR PROTECTION AND MAXING

There are a couple of ways you can keep yourself safe from attacks from other players, as long as they don't have revenge on you.

Firstly, lets talk about being maxed. When you first start playing you have 25 open hits available on you. This means that it is possible for someone to hit you 25 times (as long as they win every hit). To get maxed you will need to find someone that is a friend (not a good idea to ask enemies to max you!) and in range, or an enforcer (the enforcer is the only person in the family that can hit other members of the same family and range does not matter) in your family, and ask them to max you. To get maxed the person maxing you needs to have ONE car, and use the driveby attack on you, whilst you have no guns. The first time you get maxed it will take 25 hits, and then 2 hits will open up on you every top of hour after that. Top of hour is at around the 59 minute, 58 second mark of every hour on the game clock (this is the time at the top of the screen that shows you how much time is left in the round). PLEASE NOTE - maxes do not automatically wear off an hour after you have been hit. example, if you were maxed when there was 1 hour, 30 minutes left in the round, you will only remain maxed until there is 59 minutes and 58 seconds left in the round. It is also worth noting that maxing does not protect you if someone has a revenge on you! Anyone with a revenge on you can hit you at anytime regardless of networth and regardless of you being maxed!

Now lets move onto protection, when hiring you receive 1 second of protection for every turn you use to hire, up to a maximum of 60 seconds. So if you hire with 60 turns you are protected for 60 seconds and no-one can hit you in that 60 second time frame UNLESS they have a revenge on you. Hiring for protection DOES NOT protect you from revenge hits! If you hire with 100 turns you will still only be protected for a total of 60 seconds. If you rehire with 60 turns within that 60 seconds time frame your protection will go back out to the maximum 60 seconds

BANKING CASH AND SENDING AND RECEIVING TRANSFERS

If you go to the BANK link at the top right of the page, you will find yourself on the bank page. Here you can put 25% of your net worth into the bank and it can't be stolen by other mobsters. When you get on to the bank page you will see how totals on the left-hand side of how much you have in your bank, and how much is the maximum amount you can put in your bank. Underneath these totals, you will see a withdraw and a deposit button. To deposit the maximum amount of cash possible you just need to hit the deposit button. Similarly if you wish to remove all the cash from your bank you just need to hit the withdraw button. Underneath these buttons you will see another way of depositing and withdrawing cash. Here you can manually put it in the amount of cash you would like to withdraw or deposit. This is handy if you need only to withdraw a small amount of cash if you need guns, drugs or travel money.

On the bank page you will also see the option to send cash to other players in the game. Most families have a family banker set up that holds cash for the family, and you will use this feature to send cash to them. All you need to do is put the player's name in the space provided and the amount of cash you would like to send (or alternatively you can use the cash on hand button to automatically insert the total of your cash on hand), and then press SEND.

If a player sends you cash it will show up on your mailbox toolbar next to your TRANSFERS. To accept the transfer you will need to go to the BANK page where the transfer will show up with the option to accept or cancel next to it. Once you have accepted the transfer the cash transfers straight to your cash on hand. There is an option to turn on your auto transfer, so that cash automatically goes to your on hand cash. You can change this option by going to your profile, and clicking on the edit profile media, descriptions. Here you will see auto accept transfers option. This is set at no as a default. Click on yes if you would like to automatically receive transfers.

** Please note that transfers to members in the same family as you automatically go through, regardless of whether your auto transfers are turned on or not! **

GAME ALERTS

Fairly regularly the Admin and Staff of EMW send out general alerts to keep all of the players up to date with any important information that they need to know. Any new alerts will show up on your Mailbox toolbar in the same way that messages, attacks, transfers do. Just click on the alert link and it will take you to the message from staff. If you need to check back on past alerts, you can get to all of the alerts through your inbox on the mailbox toolbar.

PRIZES, LEVELS, BUYING TURNS AND ADDING CREDITS TO ROUND

In EMW we have various prizes that we hand out at the end of every round. There are a few cash prizes available and many prizes are given in game credits. 1 credit is the equivalent of 1 normal turn. These prizes are given out based on who has the highest net worth in the all of the various levels.

If you have a look at the prize page in any round (bottom of page, far right on the ranks tool bar) you will see that there are various prizes for different levels. To win the major jackpot, which starts at $2000, you need to have transferred at least 100k credits in to the round. To reach level 3 you need to have transferred in between 40,000 and 99,999 credits into the round. Level 2 players have used between 1 and 39,999 credits. Level 1 players haven't transferred in any credits, and the subscription level is players that have a sub and haven't used any credits. Please note that if you have a sub and use credits you will automatically be moved to the appropriate level depending on how many credits you have used.

Every player receives 2,000 credits when they first join up to play EMW. To get to these credits, or to see how many credits you currently have in your account click on the BUY TURNS button at the bottom of the page. This page shows you how many credits you have available and also gives you the option of buying more credits or subscriptions. If you wish to add any credits to the round you need to select the number of the round to which you would like to add the credits, and then type in how many credits you would like to add and then click on add turns. Once added, these turns will be transferred from your account into your reserve turns for that round (check your main menu page and you should see them there).

If you would like to purchase any credits or subscriptions you need to pick which choice is right for you and then click on the purchase button and follow instructions. If you are unsure about anything before making a purchase or aren't sure about all the options available to you please contact one of the staff and they will be more than happy to help you out.

VOTING FOR TURNS

Another way you can get yourself some extra turns is by voting for our site on a number of game sites. On the VIEW toolbar at the top of the page you will see a link titled Vote for Turns. If you click on this link it will bring up a list of links to various game sites. Click on each link (they will open in a different window) and follow the instructions to vote for our site. You get 3oo turns for every site that you vote on, and can vote on each site once every 24 hours. It’s an easy way to get yourself some extra turns (3300 a day!) and help promote the site at the same time.

ADDING MEDIA TO YOUR PROFILE AND GRAPHICS DEPT

You may have noticed that many of the players in the game have YouTube clips, pics or special medias on their profiles. There are several easy ways for you to get the media that you want for your family or profile. Firstly if you see a YouTube
Video that you would like added to your profile, you need to get the link and make a few changes to it. Here is an example:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=94ZWD-5E6Pw (original link)

1. remove watch? from the link - http://www.youtube.com/v=94ZWD-5E6Pw
2. replace = with a / - http://www.youtube.com/v/94ZWD-5E6Pw
3. if you would like YouTube to auto play add &autoplay=1 to end of link - http://www.youtube.com/v/94ZWD-5E6Pw&autoplay=1
4. finally add .swf to end of link - http://www.youtube.com/v/94ZWD-5E6Pw&autoplay=1.swf

Once you have changed the link to look like the one above it is ready to put up as your profile media or family media.

To put it up as a profile media, you will need to go to MY PROFILE. Once on your own profile, you need to click on "Click here to edit your profile media, description." At the top of the next page you will see a place to change your media. Click on remove to take off the standard media that everybody starts with, then copy and paste your altered YouTube link into the place provided and then click on apply to set the media.

If you would like to put it up as a family media you need to go to MY FAMILY, and click on FAMILY or BRUG OPTIONS (please note only Bosses, Consigs and Brugs can change family media). Once on the options page you will see a box to put in the link to the media you would like. Copy/paste your link in and then click on UPDATE OPTIONS to set the family media.

EMW also has a media department that can help you out by making up medias and icons for you completely free of charge. At the top right hand side of the screen you will see a link marked "profile media request". If you click on this link it will take you to a box where you can put in the details of what you what would like on your media or icon. Please make sure you include to any links of pictures that you would like on your media, and the YouTube link of the song you would like. Once you have put in the request one of our graphics team will be in contact with you and you will quickly have your own personal media.
